Should I Gain Weight
There are many people who walk around wondering if they should gain some weight. Many feel that they are underweight for their high, age, and bone structure. In a world where people are concerned with fast weight loss and engaging in weight loss exercise, it is sometimes surprising to hear people say they wonder if they should gain weight.
The answer to the question is not a simplistic one because it depends on a number of things. The first of which is, are you healthy at your current weight? The only person who can answer this is your physician. Your ideal weight is generally an operation of your age, height, genes, and body frame.
Unless you have a serious medical problem like anorexia then you may not need to concern yourself with gaining weight. Always keep in mind that any unnecessary weight gain will impact your overall health but putting at risk for a number of diseases including diabetes. The same however is true for anyone who is underweight as there are also some serious health risks possible.
If your doctor declares that you need to gain weight then you should do it slowly and follow his advice. The key here will be nutrition.
In the same way anyone who is trying to lose weight eats more fruits and vegetables the same it will be for you. The key here is to eat healthier foods. Your body is far better off when you feed it healthy foods than when you try to stack on the weight through unhealthy foods that are high in fat and sugar. They may taste good but they are not doing your body any good.
You will also need to get moving. Yes exercise is important in your weight gain plan. If you do not exercise you will likely end up putting on fat mostly. By exercising you will be building and toning your muscles. Also exercise is good for your heart. It does not matter what you choose to do be it team sports or going to a gym, it is important to just begin.
You do not need to engage in exercise everyday and you can still do those weight loss exercise that people who want to lose weight are doing. Basically any exercise is good for you when trying to gain weight.
In your natural growth and development you need to sleep. When you sleep you are fueling your body with the energy for growth. The amount of sleep you need, will vary from person but the recommends amount is eight hours per night.
Whether you should gain weight or not must never be decided on a whim. It requires serious thought and the help of a medical professional.
