Atkins Diet

Atkins Diet is an amazing diet, where you will never go hungry again yet still lose weight. It has been around for decades. The diet is based on the theory, that overweight people eat too many carbohydrates. The human bodies burn both fat and carbohydrates for energy, but carbs are used first and by drastically reducing carbs and eating more protein and fat, our bodies naturally lose weight by burning stored body fat more efficiently.

Several people will lose 10-30 pounds in the first month by limiting carbohydrates in their daily food intake. They can eat all the meat, cheese, eggs, and fats (like butter and oils) until they are full. There is no calorie counting or using tasteless low fat foods, there is no starvation.

Another benefit reported by many Atkiner's is an increased mental alertness. The amazing thing with following the diet's plan, not only can you eat delicious food and feel satisfied, but you will feel better mentally and physically. The energy level will increase, and you may discover that your food cravings have relinquished and the need for comfort foods is no longer necessary.  The Atkins Diet promises his followers not only weight loss and suppressed appetite with a low-carbohydrate diet, but guides them on the road to better heart health and memory function, as well as other wellness benefits.

But you always have to remember, no matter how much is allowed for you to eat, in the basic it is a diet. So keep a clear head and don’t forget about exercise and drink lots of water! When carbohydrates are significantly restricted, the body runs short on its constant supply of glucose, the breakdown product of carbohydrate, so the body anticipates these situations by storing glucose (glycogen) in the muscles and liver. For each gram of glycogen the body stores, it must store with it three grams of water. If carbohydrates are significantly limited, the body will break down these glycogen stores to obtain glucose for energy and when the glycogen is broken down, stored water is released and excreted. The more aggressive the carbohydrate restriction, the more dramatic this effect is. Hence, water loss, so read carefully the instructions before you start the diet or consult a doctor.
